How to use a shaving brush
Making warm lather with a brush for shaving is not just for the past but has become a growing trend. Just because it went away as a fashion trend doesn't
mean it didn't work and work even better than today's electric shavers , aerosol can with disposable razors. We've come to realize that out fathers and grandfathers were right. So here is how they used their brush and shaved.
Wet the area to be shaved with warm water , this will soften the hairs. Thoroughly wet your brush with warm water and shake off some of the excess, rotate your brush over the shaving soap or cream somewhat like you stir your coffee. Apply in a back and forth motion and slightly circular to your face creating the lather on your face.
Through trial and error you will find the perfect amount of water to use on your brush, too much and the lather is bubbly, too little and the lather is dry and filmy.
Your not looking for a thick (interfering) film like you get with a aerosol can. but rather a layer of lather that makes your razor glide with out too much foam to get in the way of a close shave. You can control the amount of lather by how much water is used on the brush, how much is used on the shaving soap and how applied to the face. Experiment and find what works for you and enjoy shaving as you've never enjoyed it before.
